Terms of Service
Last updated October 21, 2026
FernQR is operated by Waylum Inc., Ontario, Canada (“we”, “us”). These terms are an agreement between you and Waylum Inc.. By using the site you agree to them. If you use FernQR for a business, you agree on its behalf. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
1. The service
- Free QR codes are made in your browser and contain your content directly. They do not depend on us and keep working as long as their content does.
- Editable codes contain a short link that we host. When scanned, we send people to the destination you choose, and you can change it.
2. Accounts
You need an account for editable codes. You must be at least 16, and old enough to make purchases where you live. Keep your sign-in secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
3. Plans, payments and refunds
- A single editable code is a one-time payment of $12. Plans are billed monthly or yearly and renew automatically until you cancel.
- Payments are processed by Polar, our merchant of record, which sells to you under its own terms and handles tax, receipts and refunds. Prices may include or add tax depending on where you live.
- You can cancel a plan anytime from Billing and receipts in Your codes. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period. We do not give partial refunds for unused time unless the law requires it.
- If something does not work as described, contact us within 14 days of payment and we will fix it or arrange a refund. This does not affect any rights you have under consumer law.
- Each plan has a maximum number of editable codes and a limit on new codes in any 30 days (Pro: 25 codes, 5 new per 30 days; Business: 500 codes, 50 new per 30 days).
- When a plan ends, codes created under it keep redirecting to their last destination but are locked. Start a plan again and you can edit them again.
- We may change prices. Changes apply from your next renewal, and we will email you at least 30 days before a plan price goes up.
4. How long editable codes work
Editable codes keep working, whether or not you have a plan, for as long as we run the service, unless a code is disabled under section 5. If we ever decide to shut the service down, we will email account holders at least 6 months before redirects stop, and give you a way to export every code’s short link and destination so you can reprint or move them.
5. Acceptable use and your destinations
- You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy.
- You are responsible for where your codes point and for the content there. You confirm you have the right to use every link and text you add.
- We screen destinations and review reports, but we do not check every page. We may disable any code, or suspend any account, that we reasonably believe breaks the policy or the law, without notice. Where a breach is serious or repeated, we will not refund.
6. Your content
You keep all rights to your content. You allow us to store, process and serve it only as needed to run, secure and improve the service.
7. Availability and disclaimers
The service is provided “as is” and “as available”. We work to keep redirects fast and online, but we do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service and give no uptime guarantee. Always test a code before printing it in quantity. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
8. Limitation of liability
To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for indirect, incidental, special or consequential losses, or for lost profits, revenue, data or reprint costs. Our total liability for all claims about the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law, such as for fraud or for death or personal injury caused by negligence.
9. Indemnity
If you use FernQR for a business, you will defend and compensate us for claims, losses and reasonable costs that arise from your destinations or content, or from your breach of these terms or the Acceptable Use Policy.
10. Ending the agreement
You can stop using the service and delete your account at any time by contacting us. Deleting an account stops its editable codes from working. We may suspend or end access for a breach of these terms. Sections 5 to 11 continue after the agreement ends.
11. Governing law
These terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada, and disputes will be heard by its courts. If you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory laws of the country where you live and may bring claims there.
12. Changes and general terms
We may update these terms. For significant changes we will email account holders at least 30 days before they take effect. If any part of these terms is unenforceable, the rest still applies. Not enforcing a term is not a waiver. We may transfer this agreement to a company that takes over the service, and the promises in section 4 transfer with it. These terms, with the policies they link to, are the whole agreement about the service.
